Capital, Infrastructure and Housing Department combines the management of FNNND’s physical assets, the planning and execution of the Nation’s needs and priorities, in addition to the construction and maintenance of adequate and affordable housing for Citizens and their family. The department is currently responsible for the upkeep of over 20 service-related buildings and 150 housing units through a planned yearly maintenance cycle, preventive upkeep and renovation works, Tenant requests and Emergency calls. Above 15 km of roads are being maintained year-round through snow, ice, thaw and heavy traffic. The Department’s 25-member team is composed of a majority of Citizens and offers a wide range of training, improvement and advancement opportunities in maintenance and construction-related fields. Water Delivery, Septic Pump-outs, and shuttle service are just a few of all the services this Department provides for Citizens and Community.
Mahsi Cho for looking after your Home, Land and each other.
FNNND’s 150 housing units are spread throughout the Mayo Community all the way to Stewart Crossing. Housing units include big family units, 2-plexes and single-person cabins. Each unit goes through a cycle of upkeep items required to maintain safety standards, catch imminent repair needs and update the short- and long-term maintenance planning. The Department is responsible for prioritizing renovation needs of all buildings and requests from Citizens and making them happen efficiently and cost-effectively. As Citizens age, pair up, move out and move in, the Housing Committee, based on the Department’s reports and data, recommends allocations to the Council for available units and new builds.
